RE: Removing Bathroom

Why not just sell it or trade it now before you devalue the PuP by tearing it apart. then by one that fits your particular needs.
makes alot more sense, to me anyway!

RE: Will Tornado Work?

I installed a tank rinser on both our TT`s. it works great and does a great job of cleaning the tank. so far the gauge reads accurate. I had to install mine on the side of the tank due to the frame rail being in the way! it still works correctly this way.

RE: Reese Dual Cam questions

Yes, mine are also starting to show some wear. the last couple of times I have added a dab of grease to the cams, which is OK by Reese due to my TT having approx. 1200lbs of TW! no more noise and no decrease in performance.

RE: RV Stolen From Forest River - help please

I own a FR product and usually I side with them. not this time! there is no reason they could not offer a loaner RV. the OP`s insurance would cover the TT, so when FR says "there insurance will not cover it" it is just BS.
Not the type of negative publicity you want in the RV industry with the way the economy is!

RE: 2008 Dodge Hemi Issues

No you do not feel or notice anything when the MDS kicks in. and I believe, on the new (09) cars and SUV`s anyway, the MDS is programmed to kick in during light throttle acceleration. not sure about the trucks, yet!

RE: Running the a/c while driving a travel trailer (TT)

And then he adds
I guess it shouldn't matter if I'm hauling passengers in a State where it's legal to do so or if I'm hauling my dogs back there because my cabs filled with my wife and 4 kids...
I think many of us would be lead to believe that he is going to put dogs in his TT!
I think he just added the comment about keeping the TT cool, to try and quiet us down!

RE: Forest River Products

All manuf. have there problems. whether it be a $4k PuP or a 1 mill. dollar DP. something will happen.
To that I`ll add we have had to FR products and no problems with either of them. except of course for the Concertone in our current TT. which I fixed my self. and I consider that to be minor.

RE: Bike Rack on Trailer Bumper - welding modification

I installed a bolt on receiver on the rear bumper. I also added to stainless eyebolts to the back of the TT bolted through the wall studs and bunk bed studs and backed by a 3X5 aluminum plate on the outside and 1 inch angle iron on the inside. I use to ratchet straps to keep most of the weight off of the bumper. it worked for the most part, I have a rear view camera and the view is such that I can see the bikes also while driving. well let me tell you! even with the straps the little bit of play between the bike rack and receiver, the bikes bounced around like crazy! when I got home I added a bolt to the top of the receiver to preload the bike rack. this did the trick, the bikes are rock solid on the back and I have very little movement.
As someone else mentioned it`s not that the bumper can`t handle the weight! it`s the constant bouncing on the bumper that weekens it. even if you have a welded and reinforced 2" receiver, if you don`t make the bike rack so that it is one with the trailer, it too will fail and either break or fall off!
I`ll see if I can get some pics posted!

RE: Any experience with Palomino(Puma) Cherokee or Wildwood

We had an 05 Cherokee 28A. very nice and well built TT with alot of standard features that are optional on other brands. we traded it in on our 07 Cherokee 32B. the reason we traded was we wanted the flush floor slide and just the overall bigger feeling of a fullsize TT. we have had no problems with our cherokees, except of course for the Concertone in the 07. which has been fixed with a better radio.
As far as feeling hesitant about the 08. with the way the economy is now it is more than probable that he just can`t afford to keep it or use it anymore.
Good luck!

RE: Breakaway Controller Mistake

When you towed it home did the truck and trailer stop straight? if only one magnet is bad you will feel the trailer pull to the side with 2 good magnets. now if the magnets went bad on one axle then it would not pull, but it also would not stop that well. judging by the fact that the Prodigy is not giving you any codes and you say it stops OK, I`de say the brakes are probably good. hook it up and take it to a parking lot and manually lock the brakes with the brake controller if it stops straight and fast then all should be good.

RE: Annode Rod is stuck

Your going to need to get a torch with a Mapp gas cylinder. mapp gas burns hotter and will heat up the fitting better. be sure to open a hot water faucet and/or the pressure valve to release the pressure built up from heating up the tank.
